General Settings Tab


Delete Options 
If you don't want to use the Social Member Lock plugin on your site anymore, you can check that box. This makes sure, that all the settings and tables are being deleted from the database when you deactivate the plugin. 

User Role 
Here you can set a specific role for users who connect to your site using the Social Member Lock plugin. When they connect to your site with one of the supported Social Networks, the plugin will create an account for them and will add the chosen role to them. You have the option to choose from one of the standard WordPress roles or the one added by the plugin which is Social Member Lock User. You can then use these roles to "Lock" your content and only give access to users with a specific role.

Facebook Setup 
We have created a special section to show you how to setup the plugin for Facebook at: Configure Facebook for Social Member Lock

Admin Bar Menu 
When you install the plugin it will add a new menu to the WordPress admin bar, which is located at the top of the admin section, if you don't use another plugin which displays that bar on another place. When you check this option, then the menu will disappear from the admin bar.

LinkedIn Setup

Connect Buttons 
You have the ability to use your own buttons / graphics for the Social Network connections. They will be displayed, when you lock content. Just upload your own image / graphic within the specific options for Facebook, Google Plus and LinkedIn.

Within this tab you can see the users who have connected with your site. You will be able to see the ones who used Facebook, Google Plus and LinkedIn. Sometimes it can happen, that not all users are shown, especially with Facebook. That depends on the privacy settings the user uses within their Facebook Account.

Autopost on Facebook User's Wall 

Autoposting On Facebook User's Wall means that you can set a message which will automatically be posted to the user's Facebook wall after they successfully connected with your site the first time.

Auoposting 
You can activate the autoposting feature by checking the box. 

Link to attach to the message (optional) You can attach a link to the message so that all the friends of the connected user can see, with which site he just connected. The link should have a proper format like: http://www.example.com. 

Image URL (optional) 
To get a better visual effect you can also attach an image to the message. This image will be posted with your message. Use a proper format for the image URL like: http://www.example.com/images/image.jpg 

Message 
Here you can enter the message you want to post to the Facebook user's wall when he connects with your site. You can use {first_name} and {last_name} to use the real name of the connected user.

Auto Notification 
You also have the ability to send notifications to users who have connected to your site with their Facebook Account. This means that you can send a notification to them when you created a new post as example. 

Important
Be careful with sending out notifications. If you're sending too many, users can report your App as spam and then you'll lose all the connected users if Facebook does shut down your App. To enable the Auto Notifications, check the box. If you want to automatically send a notification when you create new content, then you can choose for which post type you want to enable that by checking the box beside of each listed post type.

 

Content Locker Settings Tab


Here you can lock any content from your site which then can only be seen by connected Facebook users. If you check a box beside any content type, this means that every content you create for that type will automatically be locked for Facebook users only. For Example: if you check the box beside Posts, this means that all posts you created and all posts you will create are getting locked automatically and can only be seen by Facebook users who have connected to your site. Leave the boxes unchecked if you want to lock individual content. If you want to lock just some content from your site, click on "Choose individual entries". A pop up window with all your created content for the specific post type will appaer. There you have the ability to check all the content you would like to lock for connected Facebook users. After you have selected the content, click on the "Done" button and the chosen content will be locked for Facebook users only. You also have the ability to lock any content when you create it within a given meta box. You also have the ability to lock just a part of your content such as a download link, a video, special report or anything you like. You can do that by using a shortcode which is given within the WordPress editor. 

Message 
This is the message which is being shown when you locked content or part of your content. Only users who haven't connected to your site yet will see this message. 

Lock Content For

You will see a list of all available content types from your site. If you click on the checkbox beside a content type, this means that all content of this type will get locked with Social member lock automatically. Click on "choose individual entries“ and a new pop up window will appear from which you can select individual posts on which you want to have the Social content locker being applied.


Content Locker Box Color 
Here you can choose a color scheme for the content locker box which will be shown to users who haven't connected to your site yet. We have included 30+different colors to make sure, that the color fits your site. You still have the ability to choose a custom color for each box you create. 

Select a role to see the locked content 
Select a role which an user needs to have at least to see the locked content. This means that if you choose "Editor" as example, that all editors can see the locked content for Social Member Lock Users too, without having to connect to your site with a Social Network. 

Important: 
If you want to test it as admin choose Social Member Lock User from the drop down menu. This will also lock the content for logged in admins. 

Locker icon 
Check this box if you don't want to show the locker icon within the message which is shown to users who haven't connected to your site yet. You still have the ability to show the locker icon or your custom one, if you use one, on each content you create. 

Icon URL 
You can also use your own icon/image within the message box. Enter the URL for your custom icon/image here. You also have the ability to use a custom icon/image on each content you create. Use a proper format for the URL like: http://www.example.com/images/image.jpg

 

Status Update Settings Tab


Here you can send status updates any time you like. But be careful. It's your own App you're using and if you send out too many status updates your App might get marked as spam by your users and then Facebook will block your Application. This status update will be posted to all connected users wall as soon as you click on „Update Status“ button. 

Status update message ( max 420 characters ) 
Enter the message you want to send out to all connected users in to the given box. 

Link to attach to the status update (optional) 
You can also attach a link to your message. The link should have a proper format like: http://www.example.com. 

URL of the image to use with the status update (optional) 
You can attach an image to your status update message for better visual effects. Use a proper format for the image URL like: http://www.example.com/images/image.jpg 

Link name (optional) 
Enter a name for the link. This will be used as link anchor text. 

Caption (optional) 
You can also enter a caption for the link. This will appear beneath the link name. 

Link description (optional) 
You can also enter a description for the link which will better describe about what the link is. This will appear beneath the link caption. The published status update will look something like the one in the image below: Social Member Lock Status Update Message


Optin Form Settings Tab


Optin Form Settings 
You have the ability to add the users who connect with your site to your list. It's easy to do. You just need to copy the HTML code of your optin form and paste it in to the given field within the settings. 

IMPORTANT: 
Make sure that you ONLY use the HTML code from your optin form and NOT the Java Script code. 

Activate the optin form 
Check this box to activate the optin feature for the plugin. 

Enter the HTML code of your optin form 
Once again. Make sure, that you only copy the HTML code from your optin form. NO Javascript. 

E-mail identifier 
Name attribute of the input field that holds the email address (Example email input field: < input type="text" name="email" value="" />). Enter the value from name= in to the field above. Default is "email".
