The PayPal Adaptive Payments Extension can be purchased here.


PayPal Adaptive Payments handles payments between a sender of a payment and one or more receivers of the payment. It’s possible to split the order total up to 6 receivers (you + 5 receivers), so you can pay commissions or partners.


Installing the PayPal Adaptive Payments Extension


After you purchased and downloaded the plugin, you can use the WordPress standard method to install it.


  1. Login to your WordPress site and go to Plugins > Add New.
  2. At the Install Plugins Page click on Upload from the top navigation and then click on browse.
  3. Go to the location on your computer where you saved the downloaded plugin zip file and upload this zipped file. You DON'T need to unzip the file.
  4. Now click on Install Now.
  5. Wait until WordPress has uploaded the file. If it's done click on Activate Plugin.
  6. Now you should see a message “Plugin activated” at the top of the window.


After you successfully installed the PayPal Adaptive Payments Extension go to Deals > Settings and click on the Payments Tab at to of the settings page. There you will find the settings for the Paypal Adaptive Settings.

APP ID

Enter your APP ID (You can get this by creating an account at www.x.com and registering a new APP)


Payment Type

Choose which type of payment type you want to use with PayPal Adaptive Payments.

  • Parallel Payments
  • Chained Payments


Fee Payment

Select the party(ies) responsible to pay the PayPal fees for each transaction.

  • Default : By default the payment mode is "Each receiver" mode.
  • Each Receiver : Each receiver pays their own fee (default, personal and unilateral payments).
  • Sender (only the customer) : Sender pays all fees (for personal, implicit simple/parallel payments; do not use for chained or unilateral payments)


Primary Email

Enter your primary email to receive payment and percentage respectively. Particular number of percentage amount will be transfer to that email id. If you give 100% than whole amount transfer to that email id.


Secondary Email 1

Enter your secondary email to receive payment and percentage respectively. Particular number of percentage amount will be transfer to that email id. if your give 50% than 50% of amount will be transfer to that email id.


You can send 5 secondary email and 1 primary email, total up to 6 receiver.


Meta Box (Deals) Settings


When you create or edit a deal with the PayPal Adaptive Payments Extension installed, you will see a new tab within the Social Deals Engine Meta Box. The name of this tab is "Paypal Adaptive".

Enable PayPal Adaptive

To enable the PayPal Adaptive for this Deal check the "Enable PayPal Adaptive" check box.

Note: When you enable PayPal Adaptive, On deal single page "Add to Cart" button changed to "Buy Now" button.


Payment Type

Choose which type of payment type you want to use with PayPal Adaptive Payments.

Setup and Configuration


PayPal Setup


You must have a PayPal Business or Premier account for generate the APIs keys to make this plugin work, so go to PayPal and log in.


Go to My Account > Profile > My Selling Tools, then click the Update (API Access) link:

In API Access page you must select the Option 2 by clicking in Request API credentials:

Select the Request API signature option and click in the Agree and Submit button:

In the next page you just need copy your API data:

Now you must create a PayPal application, you can do this in PayPal Developer, once logged go to Applications and click in the Create and manage Classic API apps link:

Click in the New App link and fill the Application options based on the way you want to use adaptive payments, when finished click the Submit App button:

PayPal will review your app when it is accepted you will have access to your Live App ID.


The payment process will be exactly equal to the Social Deals Engine PayPal integration and the PayPal Adaptive Payments plugin already sets up the return and notification URLs automatically for you.
